ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys - Known for their love of sailfishing the Killer White Team of New Jersey released three fish to win the 19th annual Captain Al Flutie Over The Hill Rip-Off sailfish tournament held Tuesday, Jan. 22 in Islamorada.

The Killer White anglers were Roy and Tina Baldwin of Newfield, N.J. and Linda Butler of Williamstown, N.J. The top three teams each released three sailfish so rank was based on times the sailfish were released.

Second place went to angler Arne Geroux of Bethan, Minn. aboard the Hopalong. Wet Dream took third place with anglers Kevin Clark of Islamorada, Dennis Delong of Dania Beach, Fla. and Jim Munn of Traverse City, Mich.

The top three boats all fished off Conch Reef. Killer White and Wet Dream drifted using kites with goggle eyes or blue eyes while the Hopalong trolled using ballyhoo.

"We all fished different depths with a couple different techniques but we still caught three fish each," said Clark who, for the first time, was old enough to enter the tournament.

It was also the first time he was captain of his vessel in a tournament setting. He's fished nine out of the last 13 days, mostly in other tournaments of which he has consistently been in one of the top five positions. In the last five days alone he caught and released 21 sailfish.

The two other anglers have been friends of his for three decades but the Over the Hill tournament marks the first time Clark has seen Munn fish. They each caught one of the team's three sailfish. Munn took the traditional plunge off the dock for catching his first sailfish.

The one-day tournament for anglers age 50 and over attracted 53 anglers fishing from 19 boats. There were 34 hookups, 21 sailfish releases and six tagged fish.
